Three teenage girls have been arrested and charged over an alleged armed robbery at a shopping centre in south-east Melbourne.
The trio are accused of threatening a 34-year-old woman with a knife and hammer and demanding her car keys at the centre on Overland Drive in Narre Warren about 5.20pm yesterday.
The victim initially refused but it is alleged one of the girls snatched the keys from her hand.
The girls were followed by a witness who was also threatened.
Police were called to the shopping centre and arrested them outside.
Two of the girls who are aged 15 have been charged with armed robbery and theft.
One of them was also charged with possess controlled weapon and other offences.
The other girl, aged 16, has been released pending further enquires.
The two 15-year-olds have been remanded to appear at a children's court at a later date.
