A person has been shot by the US Secret Service in Washington DC.
In a message posted to X, the Secret Service said personnel were on the scene of an officer-involved shooting at 15th Street and Independence Avenue in Washington DC.
"One individual was shot by law enforcement; their condition is currently unknown," the post read.

The Associated Press reported that the White House was briefly locked down but has since resumed operations.
